Rebirthing - Conscious Connected Breathing

What is Rebirthing Breathwork?
also known as Conscious Connected Breathing

Rebirthing is a simple breathing technique, which can transform your mind, body and spirit as well as how you perceive yourself, others and the world in general. The results are often profound as the process works directly at the core of issues whether conscious or unconscious.
When you breathe consciously, as in rebirthing, the inhale and the exhale are connected, your body relaxes, you can then feel your feelings, connect with thoughts and decisions you made about life, release anything that is preventing you from experiencing peace, harmony and aliveness.
Rebirthing brings expanded awareness on all levels: physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual.   When we consciously breathe with this awareness, we make it possible to resolve, integrate and heal previously unresolved issues within ourselves. This frees up energy, bringing greater aliveness and joy and allowing us to move towards fulfillment of our potential as human beings.  It also creates space in your life for joy, love, health, prosperity and functional relationships.
It was named Rebirthing because through the use of the breath early rebirthers discovered the tremendous impact birth had on their lives.
Rebirthing has since undergone many changes to become a more holistic process, addressing our entire life experience.

How does it work?

The breath acts as a bridge between the conscious and unconscious, between the mind and the body. You can control your breathing consciously by, for example, pranayama breathing exercises, but if you don't think about your breathing for a whole day, you still are breathing.
Rebirthing works on the principle that there is a direct connection between mental and physical well being and the openness of the breathing. Relaxing and releasing the breath dissolves tension in both the body and the mind.

How does breathing consciously help me?

Most people's experience of their first breath at birth was quite traumatic.  Consequently, whenever a person is happy, sad, frightened, or just feeling an unfamiliar emotion, she/he will hold her/his breath.  This habit of not breathing causes a suppression of emotions.  The emotional material then gets pushed into the body and the body reacts by creating physical problems.  Breathing consciously, or rebirthing, helps relax the body and allows it to release all it wants and needs to release, at a pace that feels comfortable. These previously unexpressed emotions can then be fully integrated.  Once fully integrated a person can then learn to respond appropriately to the world, in the present moment, rather than reacting from past experiences.  Sometimes during a rebirthing session, birth, womb and/or early childhood memories will come to light.  It is then possible to see what decisions were made about life at that point and change any decisions which are no longer serving the highest good.

Why do I need a Rebirther?

A Rebirther is a facilitator and breath coach, your guide on the journey.  In other words, she/he has been through the Rebirthing process and has been trained to help you feel safe and secure in your process, thus, allowing whatever  you feel, to be felt in safety and confidence.  Your rebirther, will also help ensure that you keep breathing, in a connected manner, will make minor corrections to your breath and will not allow your ego to interfere with the process.

Sessions are in person, for those who live locally, or using video conferencing for anyone who is further afield.
Who does Rebirthing?

"I struggled to find the right words to communicate how I felt about my journey with Elis Philpott.
I will simply infuse the following words energetically to ensure the full extent of my message is received.
The experience was transformational and not an instant process - more so like a door opening a door and yet again opening another door, and the doors continue to open. Our visits were nurturing and loving, always providing an alternative broader perspective, a much more holistic non-judgmental perspective. I consider myself blessed to have Eilis in my life! XOXO"
